Inside this Issue – Spring 2025


This issue marks our Final TMB Newsletter. We plan to use different means to communicate both internally and externally going forward. Inside this issue we start with a review of where we have been and where we are going as our CEO, Dan Clague shares TMB’s Past Present and Future outlook. The HR Corner shares updates on the recognition TMB received in 2024 for our commitment to hiring Veterans. We then provide important information on Self Reporting requirements that all cleared personnel need to follow. On page 4 we highlight TMB personnel, welcoming aboard our new hire pictures looking back at our very successful 2024 Holiday Open House and Bake-Off contest. Next up we put the Spotlight on some of TMB’s Veterans as they share pictures from their time in uniform. Finally, we close by providing photos of our most recent Bravo Zulu Performance Award winners.

Security Awareness – Spring 2025


Self-Reporting – What You Need to Know

By law, individuals with security clearances are obligated to self-report any life events or incidents that might affect their security clearance eligibility.

What to Report

  • Changes in Personal Status: Any changes to your marital status, cohabitation status (this doesn’t include non-romantic roommates), and any name changes.
  • Foreign Travel: This includes ALL trips and vacations outside of the U.S. that are not for official government business, even day trips to Mexico and Canada. A security briefing is required before any foreign travel and a debriefing is required after foreign travel.
  • Foreign Contact: Close, ongoing relationships with individuals of any foreign nationality, whether related to your official duties or not.
  • Loss or Compromise of Information: Inadvertent or accidental loss or compromise of classified or other sensitive information. The first priority is to regain control of the classified material.
  • Financial Problems: Filing for bankruptcy, garnishment of wages, having a lien placed on your property for failing to pay a creditor, eviction from a residence for failure to pay rent, or inability to meet your financial obligations.
  • Arrests: Any arrest, whether charges were filed or not, any legal system involvement like being sued, or any situation where you were sworn under oath.
  • Psychological and Emotional Health: Reportable mental health issues include findings of mental incompetence, court-ordered care, in-patient care, and certain diagnoses that may impair judgment or reliability. Though most with mental health conditions pose no security risk, such conditions can affect security clearance eligibility. Treatment and counseling alone don’t revoke clearance; seeking care can positively impact eligibility and continuous evaluation.
  • Substance Abuse Counseling: Use TMB’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or other available services. Self-initiated counseling does not need to be reported unless recommended for work-related issues. Seeking assistance is considered a proactive approach to problem-solving and does not impact judgment.

DCSA released guidance on the submission of adverse information and the reporting requirements of SEAD 3, “Reporting Requirements for Personnel with Access to Classified Information or Who Hold a Sensitive Position.” The guidance can be found at https://www.dcsa.mil/Portals/91/Documents/CTP/tools/ISL2021-02_SEAD-3.pdf.

In 2024, TMB received the Hire Vets Gold Medallion Award and was designated as a VETS Indexes 3 Star Employer.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is given to businesses that show a strong commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining veterans. Recipients of the 2024 HIRE Vets Medallion Awards meet specific employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention, providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, and dedicated human resources. Holiday Open House 2024


TMB was excited to host our 14th Annual Holiday Open House in December to celebrate with our colleagues, customers, and friends. The event highlights include our traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings, our Annual Bake Off, and much holiday cheer.



A big thank you to our Morale and Events team including Taylor Gregory, Felecia Chinn, and Cathleen Murphy who always do a great job in planning and setting up the Open House. The turn out was great and included our youngest party goer – Jacquetta Byrd’s daughter Nyi’re. Our CEO, Dan Clague served as the Bake-Off Master of Ceremonies announcing this year’s winners.

USMC Reserve Toys for Tots 2024



TMB’s charitable focus was again the USMC Reserve Toys for Tots program. Thank you to all who contributed this year. We are happy to be able to support the program’s mission to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to economically disadvantaged children at the holidays. Pictured here with the Marine who represents Toys for Tots is our former employee and Marine Corps veteran, Jonathan Hernandez and Felecia Chinn who coordinated the pickup of TMB’s donations this year.

Holiday Bake-Off 2024


Another successful Bake-Off saw thirteen different entries for the Holiday Open House attendees to sample and judge. We greatly appreciate all the bakers including returning past awardees Angelica Collins, Steven Jackey, Walt Griffin, and Felecia Chinn past participants Kerry Avila, Lana Dove, and Curtis Mack and new bakers David Kunselman, Jade Rolley, Shannon Brown, and Brittany Ecker.



It was a close contest and ultimately our Holiday Open House attendees selected the following winners of this year’s Bake-Off:

1st Place: Jade Rolley “Banana Bread Cookies”
2nd Place: Brittany Ecker “Apple Pie Crumble”
3rd Place: Angelica Collins “Espresso Martini Cheesecakes”

Spotlight On TMB’s Veterans – Spring 2025


Receiving the 2024 Hire Vets Gold Medallion Award and the VETS Indexes 3 Star Employer Award in recognition of our commitment to our Nation’s veterans was a highlight of 2024. Achieving our Mission Statement: TMB will strive to be the best Employee-Owned Business contributing to our National Defense; is enabled by the contributions of the many Veterans on our team. TMB Receives 2024 HIRE Vets Medallion Award from the US Department of Labor


U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su recognized TMB as one of the 839 recipients of the 2024 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor.  TMB earned the gold award after applying earlier this year. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

TMB joins 838 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.  Recipients of the 2024 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans. More than 1,600 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2019.
